Stop Anxiety in 3 Steps
Anxiety is a disorder that effects millions. It is something that can consume people and their lives due to the conditioned fear and phobias they have learnt from certain events within their lives. Anxiety is both a psychological and physical reaction to the excess release and miscommunication of adrenalin in the body. Adrenalin is released in the body mostly when excited or when something is feared. However, there are circumstances that at some time in your life have seemed a little daunting and adrenalin is release to cope with it. However the excess release causes the mind to believe it is in more danger than it is and reacts causing anxiety symptoms. It is this reaction that teaches the mind to believe each time that it is in danger or harms way when you are in such things as social situations. It creates a social illusion over time that begins to control your mind and body. This is such a common feeling and has been experienced at some level by probably all individuals. But for some it is much more severe and constant feelings of worrying, fear and panic controls lives, especially the idea that others are somehow judging and watching you.
Excessive sweating, severe blushing, panic attacks, nausea, sickness etc are symptoms of anxiety that are extremely physical and is something that explains why anxiety is easily perpetuated as the physicality’s of the symptoms are deemed so obvious that it self fulfils the fear. For example, social fear is something that is very common and is usually based upon the misconception that an individual is being looked at and judged negatively. This obviously evokes an anxious reaction which then heightens both the perceptions and the reaction and hence the fear. Anxiety can be controlled however no matter how bad it is. There are many things you can do to change the way you think and the way your mind works and associates the once difficult situation to something positive and manageable.

CBT and NLP are 2 such therapies and influences on techniques that are used to engage with people and change their thought processes and hence emotional reactions. There are so many resources available that can aid you in your coping with anxiety but it is important to realise that your anxiety will not go away overnight, however, it is most definitely possible with the right techniques used and the right outlook to treat it as fast and efficiently as possible. You cannot instantly change your perception of things that have been ingrained into your mind but time always heals.
3) Put what you learn into action and if you hit any hurdles do not be put off.
Avoidance of any situations that you know will cause a panic attack or some other anxious symptom is a very common action to take when trying to cope with anxiety. This is actually quite detrimental as you are reaffirming to your brain that the scenario is frightening and that danger could be imminent if you go into this situation again. Avoiding things for the short time may work but is not a permanent fixture and you may find your anxiety transitions into other situations meaning that your life is permanently controlled by it. Learning to change your approach, emotions and behaviours is difficult but taking is slowly and realistically is the main thing, as it is also detrimental to expose yourself to high levels of panic.
