How to Stop Worry and Stop Anxiety
Anxiety is a natural feeling that we will all feel at some time and for some all the time. Anxiety can be something that helps us or somethings that can hold us back. But there is one problem with anxiety and this is that it can spiral and take control of our lives. For it to help us out we need to find a balance between anxiety and confidence. Finding this balance means you push yourself and strive forward, but stay aware of what might happen and problems that can be faced.
Whether you are a person who never really gets anxious or finds some or many situations scary and unmanageable you can find ways to cope with it or harness the energy turning it into a good thing. The main thing here is to change your attitude towards it. Behaviour and attitudes are directly linked and both play off one another. This is how and why anxiety can become a negative aspect in our lives as it breeds unhelpful emotions and attitudes that then creates a vicious circle.
Anxiety is in the fear family of emotions and this is why it affects the worry of what others think of you, your goals in life and getting through the everyday. If you set your sights too high and don’t reach them you can lower your confidence and create a slide into anxiety. If you are not careful and do not really look at what you are doing, how you are doing it and what you want anxiety can take over your life. You can’t underestimate the affect and control anxiety can have over us but what we also can’t underestimate is the power we have over ourselves.
You can beat anxiety; harbour the negative energy and turn it into a positive. It is like dealing with a bully when you were at school or even in the work place. You have to stand up to it, talk to others about it and get that attitude that will scare that bully away. Fear breeds fear, anger breeds anger, and anxiety will breed anxiety and although this sounds a bit dramatic it can work on a positive level too. Happiness ill breed happiness, confidence will breed confidence and strength will breed strength. So if you think big you will be reach that level you want to get to.
Many people undermine anxiety and its affects. This can sometimes make it worse as people will not talk about it and anxiety can rumble away undercover, getting worse as time goes by. But this can be overcome with the awareness of how you feel and what to do when anxiety does set in. Sell it to yourself the key to a good sales person is always turn a negative into positive and this is exactly what you need to do to stop these negative anxious actions and thoughts and turn your life around: Sell it to yourself.
Anxiety can manifest itself in so many ways that it can undiagnosed and misunderstood by many, if you are suffering from anything that effects your life in a negative way seek advice from a medical professional who can give you guidance of what to do. Panic attacks are the most common symptom associated with anxiety, but even a panic attack can vary between people as we are all so different that out bodies react in different ways. One thing is the same however, they are caused by a sense and reaction from your mind that you are danger. Heart palpitations, nausea, being sick, dizziness, breathlessness and hot and cold sweats are just some of the signs of severe anxiety which put your body into a kind of shock making you fearful of the same situations over and over again.
One way to combat this is to expose yourself to the situations that scare you but in small steps, analysing what you are doing, how you feel and why you feel it. Take yourself out of your own body and look around you as if you are someone else, even this sounds a little far fetched it isn’t. Its a simple technique that will probably disprove the way you are feeling and give you a start to a realistic view. This realistic view is the healthy type of fear that will see things as they really are so you will feel fear when you really need to and control it to turn it into a driving force to accomplish things you never thought possible like stopping severe worry of what those around you think of you, trying new things and making changes to your life.
