Life is a roller coaster, there is nothing we can do about this as we can’t predict most of the things that come our way but what we can do it predict the way we will deal with them and realise that no one is perfect. We seem to worry in an unhealthy way about what others think of us believing there is an expectation that we need to lead perfect lives, where nothing goes wrong and we are all faultless. This is just unrealistic and we set ourselves up for huge falls that can effect us dramatically because our sights are beyond high. But if we can accept that we won’t win every time, succeed in everything or have the perfect life we can pick ourselves up faster and just get on with it with our confidence, esteem and drive in tact.

If we can’t, won’t or don’t deal well with a setback or setbacks in life then it will probably mean we will not achieve our goals in the long run as we do not prepare for any negatives or possible negatives that may happen when you are trying to achieve something whether it is buying a house, getting married, going for a new job, changing your style, having a baby, going on holiday, losing weight, making new friends or online dating. To achieve anything in life in the long term we need to face the fact that the path won’t be easy and there may be few hurdles that we can either crash into or jump over depending on how prepared we are physically, emotionally and mentally. To be able to do this well you may have to make some minor or even major changes to your life which may take some effort and dedication. But what we have to know is that it is worth it to such an extent that we need to think about what it is we have to look at like time, level of dedication, support and the actual goal. If you don’t do this and make the change necessary to reach the goals you want in life may result it that goal takes ages to be achieved or not getting there at all.

So for example, you have probably tried to lose weight in the past with crazy fad diets or just tried to go cold turkey and cut our everything you love and think is bad for you. Doing this is not a realistic way to lose weight and means you have not really thought about what is best for you and what happens if you fail or you don’t lose weight. It is more than likely you put weight on at some point and this disheartens you. But what you need to do is sit down and think about your ultimate goal and choose a way of getting there that suits your life, that is healthy and that you can adapt too with ease and realise that if you fail for some reason do not let it get you down and maybe eat because of it. Just approach what you are trying to do and change a few things.if you prepare or equip yourself for negative things and get rid of anything that might jeopardise your progress, the more you get used to it the more you will find you don’t want those bad foods and the less you will think about them and this works for any goals you aim for. This routine can be used for anything.

Failing toughens us up and that is why there is nothing wrong with it, and as long as we don’t let it get to us and learn from it we can surpass what it is we were trying to achieve. If you have one knock in anything, say trying to pass your driving test for example don’t let the knock in confidence affect how you deal with other things like getting through your degree, getting a job after losing one or getting in to another relationship after a break up. It is the mindset that you aim to achieve your goal but if you don’t this time you can always find another opportunity too next time and learn something along the way that will get you through times like this and make your goals even more achievable and strong in your mind. By doing this your resilience to anything in life will be so high that conditions such as anxiety will fade away to nothing.

Now we can’t prepare for everything in life as something’s come our way that we never expected and can totally throw us off course. Life has never been a direct line and never will be but if it was it would be boring and we would never have to make choices of the things we want to do as we would all do the same thing. And even if something does come our way that does take us off our path we need to take a step back and learn how to get ourselves back on no matter how frustrating or difficult it seems. And by doing this we become in tune with ourselves and how we cope with life’s adversities.

The feeling of failure, the feeling that there are too many barriers in our way or that we never have any luck can really effect the way we try to reach our goals and can have a major effect on our emotional well being because of the struggle we face and the feeling of hopelessness. Most of us will shy away from the difficulties that are raised in life and take too many steps back that we can lose our way to reaching the things we want because of it. But, if this does happen what you have to come to terms with is that it is just a setback and was always on the cards. If you remind yourself of this you can take some time out to deal with it rationally and move onto the path again with a new reaffirmed drive and respect for what you are trying to do.

It’s not always an easy thing to keep an open mind and if it isn’t your natural way of thinking it can be really hard to try and take things as they come, questions things and learn from them. However if you do fail or not reach your goal by the time you want you don’t have to beat yourself up about it but reflect and appraise what you have done so you then know how to move on and make changes to get there next time. It might be that you realise you don’t even want it anymore and that’s why you fail or that you didn’t even account for something that got in the way but now you know you can make the changes that go round it.

Making mistakes is the way we learn about things, its how we learnt when we were kids and its how we learn now as long as we don’t get bogged down with the actual failure factor. Get rid of that word completely and change it to learning from your mistakes. As humans we are suppose to live a life of trial and error, something’s come to us naturally but in this modern world we have so many choices in front of us that none of really know what is going to happen which is why we will only ever truly be happy when we realise this and strive towards the things we want but with a realistic view.
