By developing yourself physically, mentally and emotionally you not only affect what happens to you but also those around you. It works the same as ‘smile and others will smile back’ it is amazing how positivity can breed positivity and on the flip side negativity can breed negativity. Being good is all in the mind which is why negative feelings can affect us so much and put a dampener on things, feelings such as anxiety, stress, depression and anger can override positive thoughts and feelings and causes you not to enjoy life at all as you end up being controlled by them.
It is the ability to look at the bigger picture and take yourself out of the moment that will help you to really see what is going on and what you are really like. Think about your strengths and weaknesses, but be really really honest with yourself and be specific. The more we can learn the more we know and the more we can do in our lives. It is just as important knowing your weaknesses and your strengths as you can consciously grow yourself and help yourself. The point of doing exercises such as these is to build yourself up and make yourself happy; fulfilling those needs you didn't think possible or had not really thought about as you were stuck in a rut. Happiness and confidence makes you take chances, be creative in your actions and thoughts and be productive where you do not procrastinate anymore and take action.
Remember that everything is connected; your body, your mind and your emotions all affect one another. If one is negative the rest will in turn out to be the same. A technique to help with this is something called ‘self-talk’ this is something hypnotherapists use. Take some time out and think about someone who is confident and has a strong positive mind, this can be someone you know or someone you want to be. Then compare it to an image of what you are really like, notice the difference between the images and repeat this process, spending a longer time on the positive one, talk over it all the things you like and want to do and label all the positives, let this ‘script’ transition into your life.
Being positive and having a good strong mind means you enter each day with that view and make the most of it, ‘life is too short’ is a cliched phrase for a reason, every year goes past so fast which is why we end up just letting things go by how we do and take things for granted. Everyday make a conscious effort to make the most of everything that happens to you. Don’t get weighed down by the routine of life as this can be changed, its all about how you see it. Start your day by making sure you wake up properly, leave enough time to get ready, enjoy your breakfast, news and cup of tea then make an effort with what you wear, if you feel you look good you will feel good and feel more confident. Then spend your day complimenting people, taking in your surroundings, making a effort with your friends and family, eating well and doing something you wouldn't usually even if its something small like trying a new food or phoning a old friend.
Staying strong minded and positive can be hard to do but to escape the grasp of anxiety caused by worry, panic and fear, we need to strive towards being positive and rid ourselves of unhealthy negative behaviours and thoughts. Anxiety and other disorders can be managed but does have to be conscious done at first, after time however, a new strong you will take hold of life and do everything you can to enjoy it without anxiety weighing you down.
